The COST Action QOpen – Many-Body Open Quantum Systems invites applications for Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs). STSMs support short research visits between institutions participating in QOpen, with the aim of fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange and scientific progress within the Action.
Eligible Period
Missions must take place between 15 April and 15 October 2026
Funding
Budgets up to EUR 1,000 will be prioritised. Exceptionally, missions up to EUR 2,000 may be funded. Funding is subject to budget availability and COST rules.
Eligibility
Applicants must be affiliated to a recognised legal entity, registered in e-COST, and eligible to receive COST funding. The STSM must involve mobility between two COST-eligible countries and directly contribute to the Action’s objectives. Young Researchers and Innovators (within 8 years of PhD) and applicants from Inclusiveness Target Countries are particularly encouraged to apply.
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted online via the COST e-services platform: e-services.cost.eu.
In e-COST: COST Actions → My Grant Applications → Apply for Grant → Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM).
Applicants must upload:
- The official STSM Application template
- A one-page CV
- A short scientific justification
- A proposed budget breakdown
- A host confirmation letter
Deadline
31 March – 23:59 CET. Applications submitted after this deadline will not be evaluated.
Successful applicants will be required to upload the official STSM report in e-COST after completion of the mission. Payment will be processed upon report approval.
